The NBHS Colorguard is an organization comprised of ninth grade center and high school students who perform in the Marching Band show at football games and competitions. These students perform using flags, rifles, sabres, and other props, along with different styles of dance to provide a visual impact to the marching show in the Fall. In the Spring semester, Colorguard members audition to be placed onto competitive JV and Varsity Winterguards. Winterguard brings the Colorguard INSIDE, where students work to perfect and perform a competitive show throughout the Spring semester. The NBHS Winterguard competes in the Texas Colorguard Circuit and Winterguard International. The Varsity Winterguard has competed in the WGI San Antonio and Austin Regional Finals since 2017.  The Winterguard is also a 2019 TCGC State Finalist.

 

Colorguard students are considered members of the band program, and get to participate in many exciting events including football games, marching competitions, pep rallies, band picnics, band trips, band banquet, and much more. Colorguard is offered as a class during the school day, and students can receive both their required Fine Arts AND PE credits.
